1. Download and install Pidgin. You’re probably going to want to go ahead and setup Yahoo and ST, first.
2. From the Buddy List window, click Accounts > Add/Edit
3. At the Accounts screen, click Add
4. Switch the Protocol to IRC and make your info look like this, replacing “yourhandle” with any user name that is not taken.
5. Click save. It will probaly take about 10-20 seconds for it to connect to the server. Once you connect you should get a new window with a message from a bot.
6. From this window enter: /join #wangz “password” (if you don’t know the password, most likely you are not invited >:0 ) You should now be connected. If you have any problems, STGU and figure it out yourself.
Each day at work we have a chat going that isn’t sanctioned by work. We started it out on Sametime, but moved it to Yahoo once it got a little more Unpolitically Correct. Some of the chats, at least bits and pieces of them, are quite hilarious and deserve to be saved and shared with the world. So here we are…
